Once a year is enough!

Sunday, March 1st, 2009

It’s really good to know you can still run for 4 miles without stopping, for example, if you desperately need to catch a particular bus, or escape a crazed knifer in Sarf London. However, proving it once a year is quite sufficient.

I’ve done mine for this year, having successfully completed the Round-the-River course in 38m25s, starting at the LUS Boathouse, going Barnes Bridge first and finishing in the Furnival Gardens.  What a relief to have got to Hammersmith Bridge - all downhill from there!

Having lost several pints of fluid due to the exertion it was good to be able to replenish it in the AK clubhouse afterwards.   A notable improvement since last year was the birth of a potential tradition - runners’ first round on the O Lats tab!

It’s tomorrow!

There’s a risk of drizzle tomorrow apparently.  Not a problem as long as it starts after we do - it’s miserable setting off damp and cold.
